Open source · Free · Alpha for Mac and Windows
Your clipboard, with a memory.
Everything you copy on your Mac or PC, a keystroke away, even the words in your screenshots. Private, open source, and synced between your computers over your own network.
macOS 14 or later · Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit · Install guide
Or install on a Mac from Terminal
macOS won't block Kopi installed this way.
curl -fsSL https://kopi.devanshuverma.in/install.sh | bash

Press ⇧⌘V or Ctrl+Shift+V in any app.
- Open source, MIT licensed
- Stays on your computer
- No account, no cloud
- macOS and Windows
A clipboard that keeps up with you
Kopi runs quietly in the background and keeps everything you copy, ready to paste again.
Search
Find it in a few letters.
Type part of anything you copied, last minute or last month, and it's there. Narrow it down by kind or by the app it came from.
- Matches highlighted as you type
- Filters for kind and source app
- Unlimited history, unless you set a limit

Text in images
Search your screenshots.
Kopi reads the words in the screenshots and images you copy, so the booking reference, the error message or the slide from a call turns up when you search for it. It's read on your computer and never uploaded.
- Matches highlighted in the image's text
- Copy just the text from any image
- Uses the text recognition built into macOS and Windows
- Turn it off in Settings whenever you like

Snippets
Write it once. Paste it filled in.
Save the replies, signatures and commands you type again and again. Placeholders fill in the date, your last copy or a name as you paste.
- Type its keyword to bring it to the top
- Placeholders for the date, a clip or your input
- Put the cursor where you'll type next

Pinboards
Keep what you reuse close.
Pin a clip so it never ages out, or gather clips into boards for a project, a client or a habit. Each board is one click from the search box.
- Boards with your own names and colors
- Pinned clips are never removed by limits
- Drag clips onto a board

Keyboard first
Arrows, Return, and ⌘1–9 to paste without the mouse.
Paste as plain text
⌥Return pastes the words without their formatting.
Every kind of copy
Text, rich text, links, images, files, colors and code.
At home on both
Native shortcuts, light and dark, on Mac and Windows.
Encrypted sync
Copy on your Mac.
Paste on your PC.
Plenty of us work across both. Kopi keeps one clipboard history, with your pinboards and snippets, across your computers on the same network, whichever operating system they run.
- Copy on your Mac, paste on your Windows PC a moment later
- Encrypted end to end, straight between your computers on your network, never through a server
- Off until you turn it on, and you choose which kinds of clips sync

Your clipboard is personal. Kopi treats it that way.
A clipboard sees passwords, addresses and half-written messages. Kopi is designed so that none of it is anyone else's business.
Local-first storage
Your history lives in a database on your own computer. Kopi works fully offline and never needs an account to be useful.
End-to-end encrypted sync
Sync is optional and off until you turn it on. Clips go straight between your computers on your network, encrypted with keys that never leave them, and never through a server.
Skips sensitive content
Copies from password managers and content marked as concealed are ignored. You can add your own apps to the ignore list too.
Open source, open to audit
Every line of Kopi is public. Anyone can read how your data is handled, and check that the claims on this page hold up.

Built for how you work
Whatever you copy all day, Kopi keeps it organised and easy to get back to.
Developers
Commands and code, without the scrollback
Stop digging through terminal history or chat threads for the command you ran yesterday.
- Code keeps its formatting
- Pin the commands you run daily
- One history on Mac and PC

Designers
Colors and assets in one place
Copied hex codes show up as swatches, and images keep a preview so you can find them by sight.
- Colors as swatches
- Image previews
- A board per client

Writers
Your best lines, ready when you are
Keep bios, replies and quotes close, and paste them clean into any editor.
- Plain text with ⌥Return
- Snippets for replies
- Search everything you copied

Students
Research that doesn't fall through the cracks
Collect quotes, links and files as you read, then find them again when it's time to write.
- A board per assignment
- Every clip knows its app
- Free, no account
